Scales: Two selected scales will be sent out 3 weeks before the audition date along with the announcement of excerpts for the Junior Orchestra Audition Prepared Selections. District 6 Junior Orchestra Scales: Violins: G Major (3 octaves); Bb, C, D and A Major (2 octaves); and g melodic minor (2 octaves)Viola/Cello: C Major (3 octaves); F, G, D and A Major (2 octaves); and c melodic minor (2 octaves)Bass: G Major (2 octaves); F, C, D and A Major (1 octave); and g melodic minor (1 octave)Scales should be played at the speed of 100 b.p.m. and detached bow strokes.
